HOW IT ALL BEGAN
As a singer/ songwriter, actress and broadcast media professional, JoEmma Danini displayed her artistic talents since early childhood. In 1994, JoEmma played the role of Maria, a teenager in the United States and her adventures with six other teens; she participated in 105 episodes that aired nationally on TV Azteca for the Telesecundaria English Series. In 1998 JoEmma attended El Conservatorio Nacional de Musica de Puebla and in 2000, she was awarded a scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music, in Boston, Massachusetts, where she pursued a degree in Film Scoring. During this time, JoEmma performed with 2003 Boston Music Award nominee band, Kilombo Mambo and participated in several Berklee International Music Festivals.
Upon moving to Miami in 2005, JoEmma began working as a lead cantor for St. Francis de Sales in Miami Beach. Since then, JoEmma has become the musical director for St. Charles Borromeo in Hallandale, Florida and for St. Joseph’s on Miami Beach, Florida. She began working for Pax Catholic Communications in December 2006 where she shared her talents as an on-air TV and radio host for Radio Paz Musical’s El Top Ten, Spirit Online Radio’s News Flash, TelePaz’s Viva la Vida, and Radio Paz 830am’s Tu Iglesia Hoy.
In 2011 JoEmma received a Bachelor in Science in Communications from Florida International University. During her time at FIU, JoEmma was awarded Magna Cum Laude, SJMC Oustanding Journalism Student Award and a scholarship to intern with WPBT Channel 2 (PBS Miami). While working for PBS, JoEmma had the opportunity to be the on-camera reporter, interviewing headliner Jay Rodriguez during the Arsht Center’s Summer Shorts Series; she was also honored the role as Associate Producer to the PBS Arts nationally-aired documentary: GREAT PERFORMANCES- “Miami Island Arts,” (one of thirteen short documentaries in the series).
JoEmma Danini has studied with renowned opera singer Conchita de Antuñano; renowned playwright Mario Diament, and TV producer Kate MacMillin. Ms. Danini is thrilled to be part of the professional team of Taller de Actuación Sebastián Ligarde, where she has been teaching vocal projection, voice placement and a singing lesson’s workshop. Some of her latest students include William Levy, Raul Olivo and many graduate students from TASL, Inc.. At the end of 2011 she presented her CD “Blessed Christmas” (Silent Night on ‘Videos’ tab). She finished the year presenting the CD live in various states. In Chicago she received a standing ovation at the spectacular St.Clement in Lincoln Park (Chicago).
